£15K win on a RESTRICTED account! A (very) Lucky 63!

Bookie Bashing is an SBC favourite. Football, golf, darts – they calculate fair odds and identify value bets for all of them.

The most popular of their tools is the fantastic Horse Racing Tracker, a core element of the Bookie Bashing site that we analysed in depth in 2022 (SBC Members can read that in SBC Magazine #127).

A database of over 2 million horses’ races, live feeds from both bookmakers and exchanges and true odds calculations for every runner make finding value easy – especially in the place parts of bets.

Each-way multiple betting lends itself perfectly to this tool. Bookies think they are ‘mug’ bets, small stakes can result in massive returns and even a handful of places can make you profit.

SBC Member Hits The Jackpot

SBC Members can get 25% off their first three months with Bookie Bashing (saving nearly £70!). This led one man to see what all of the fuss was about…

Using the tracker with the recommended each-way strategies has resulted in some excellent returns in his first few months. We caught up with him to ask a few questions about the tool, how he uses it and the filters that he would recommend to get the best out of it.

We also asked him about his day-to-day betting, how he uses SBC Services and how he plans to adapt moving forward. This is what he had to say:

Tell me about your recent big win and how exactly that came about?

I won just over £15k from placing an each way lucky 63 by using the Bookie Bashing Racing Tracker to identify my six horses. Two of the six won, both at 16/1, with the remaining four placing at odds of 6/1, 20/1, 33/1 and 40/1.

I won just over £15k from placing an each way lucky 63

You learnt about Bookie Bashing and their Racing Tracker as its one of the Hall of Fame tools we recommend. Assuming you have read our reviews on the service – how did you decide what type of bets to place and how long have you been doing it?

I’ve only been using the Racing Tracker for two months, as I was always hesitant of joining due to being restricted by the majority of bookmakers meaning I struggled to justify the subscription fee as I wouldn’t be able to use it to its full potential. However, as a long term reader of Rowan’s Bet Diary and listener of the BB Bashcast, I’ve been aware of the success others have had so finally decided to give it a go.

When I first joined I followed Rowan’s lucky 15 strategy sticking to horses priced between 2/1 and 25/1 but after a few weeks I realised that to win a significant sum with lucky 15s you’re reliant on winners. As the Racing Tracker is designed to identify value based on the place terms then you don’t want to be dependent on winners when that’s not what the tool is designed to do. I decided that lucky 31s and more specifically lucky 63s offered more potential for winning those significant 5+ figure sums from horses finishing in the places.

I also changed my odds filter to between 5/1 and 50/1 on the basis that you need those under 5/1 to win in order to increase the value of your bet. I’m sure my theory here is flawed in some way as you do get value e/w bets at low odds, but ,my thinking is a horse priced at 9/2 at 1/5th the odds would return £1.90 for a £1 e/w stake, so a loss of 10p. To my mind you’d be better off not including the 9/2 shot in your 50p e/w lucky 63 and just double your stake on the other five and place a £1 e/w lucky 31.

I also tend to concentrate on those horses with a high confidence rating as it makes sense to stick to the ones the tracker is confident about and after that it’s just a case of picking the horses with the highest EV.

You were able to utilise a restricted bookmaker account to make it pay out? Is this something you have done with other accounts and would you recommend it?

I only have access to two bookmaker accounts that at the moment (touch wood) seem to be unrestricted. The plan with Bookie Bashing is to use these accounts for as long as I can, but I also decided to have a go at getting some bets down on previously restricted accounts. On the account I won the £15k with, they would only give me 6p e/w on a lucky 63, however when I split it out into separate doubles, trebles, four-folds, five-folds and a six-fold they allowed just about my full 50p e/w stakes albeit it the six-fold was limited to 5p e/w.

Being restricted to pennies certainly made the win sweeter so it’s definitely something worth trying.

Any other notable wins using BB or other SBC recommended services?

The only other notable win using BB was a £2800 return from another lucky 63. There is a lot of treading water following this strategy so despite having success after only a couple of months, it is a strategy I imagine will require a lot of patience with over the longer term.

The other notable win that sticks in the mind was from a Northern Monkey bet in 2021 that won £12k when Bielsa hacked up in the Ayr Gold Cup. From memory it was quite a hefty single, and was also the 2nd leg of a couple of successful doubles.

What other tipsters/services do you follow – any that the SBC recommend?

I followed plenty of SBC recommended services over the past 5 years or so; Northern Monkey, SysAnalyst, Learn Bet Win and The Value Bettor to name a few but as I’m struggling with getting the bets down now I’m having to adapt and become more focussed on the exchanges. At the moment I’m trying out a few new tipsters and strategies that will hopefully pay dividends.

Aside from that big win, how else has the Smart Betting Club service helped you over the time you have been a member?

Finding the SBC has been the key that has enabled me to bet profitably over the past 6-7 years. The content they produce is second to none, and has provided me with all the information required to educate myself on how to bet profitably. Without the SBC and the tipsters they recommend, I’d be clueless!

Finding the SBC has been the key that has enabled me to bet profitably over the past 6-7 years.

What do you like most about the Smart Betting Club service and who would you recommend it to?

I’d recommend the SBC to anyone. It doesn’t matter if you’re just starting out and want to understand the basics, or if you’re a professional punter looking to add another string to the bow, there is definitely something for everyone.

What are your betting plans for the future? What might you do if and when your accounts get fully restricted and closed?

Restrictions have been a problem for a number of years now so I’m concentrating on finding edges on the exchange. It’s been trial and error for the past 18 months or but there are a few promising angles that will hopefully bear fruit.

The increasing affordability checks and the general hassle of using friends and families accounts means that route is probably no longer worth the effort so I’m running out of ideas.

I hear more and more momentum gathering for the black market, but it isn’t an area I’ve looked into too much yet. There is going to come a time though when that is the only option.

🎧SBC Podcast #56 ⛳: Stanley from Tour Tips on golf data, statistics and betting on tours from around the world 💻

In the latest SBC Podcast I am joined by golf betting and data expert Stanley, the co-founder of a service that we have tracked for some time, .

Many sports are now utilising data to measure performance and this has inevitably become a key feature of betting analysis too.

Stanley and his team were at the forefront of using statistics to bet on golf, with their cutting-edge site being established over 20 years ago. Since inception, Tour-Tips have innovated to find new metrics to assess golfers, with their databases covering 14 tours from across the world.

Their methodology is working. Tour-Tips’ tips, which are provided each week, have yielded over £64,000 profit for those staking at £20 per point and an SBC report from 2021 highlighted an exceptional record on the PGA Tour, alongside a remarkably consistent overall performance.

We talk about this methodology, the golf betting landscape and so much more in a chat that I am sure has something for everyone!

You can listen to Episode 56 now via / / / and all other major podcast directories (search Smart Betting Club)

An in-depth chat with a golf data expert

In this episode, Stanley and I discuss:

  • Tour-Tips.com, why the site was built and how their resources provide an edge
  • Stanley’s mysterious partners!
  • The metrics that are underestimated (and overestimated) in the golf betting markets
  • Why data for prediction (& betting) is different from data for retrospective analysis of performance
  • Providing analysis and data for fourteen tours
  • Weather, tee times and other variables that need consideration before placing golf bets
  • The relative strength of different tours
  • Stanley’s preferences for betting on different tours
  • LIV Golf and how it differs from ‘traditional’ circuits such as the PGA & DPWT
  • Working with external data companies and bookmakers
  • The future of golf betting and how data & technology may well change markets
  • Tour-Tips.com’s tipping record and why Stanley is careful to wait for liquidity before releasing selections

Stanley was an interesting and informative guest and whether you are a golf betting novice or a hardened pro, I am sure that you will learn something from this expert of the field.

The Returning ‘Hall of Fame’ Tipster Now Setup For Following on Betfair

This week we welcome back a stellar name to the SBC Hall Of Fame with the publication of the very latest in-depth SBC Tipster Review.

The Tipster in question is run by a career professional gambler, has been in operation since 1992 and performed exceptionally well ever since our first review back in 2013.

Fast forward several years and with the betting markets having changed substantially, the service took a pause to adapt their model and reframe it to work on the Betting Exchanges.

At this point we also paused their Hall of Fame entry until this was achieved and since its re-started with a majority Betfair focus, it has hugely impressed with its performance. Hence it’s re-entry to our Hall of Fame.

Best of all – with this tipster, you only pay when you win as its based on a fair policy of payments after set targets are made and there is a 50% discount on the cost for SBC members too.

It’s also another example of our increased focus on Betting Exchange suitable tipsters.

What does this service offer?

This tipster puts forward up to 100 horse racing selections each month in the most liquid betting markets – usually those Friday through to Sunday alongside Festivals too.

Our proofing has revealed:

  • A 14.87% ROI to ‘best’ fair bookmaker prices (when tips are released)
  • Average client profits of 8.47% ROI (as reported by this service’s users and in the table below)
  • A 387% ROC since the new service’s inception in 2019
  • A clear edge on exchanges in both the live pre-race markets (and even at Betfair SP)

How does it work and who is it for?

Selections from this tipster are sent through with staking guidance and a minimum price, making it perfect for those looking to spread their bets around bookmakers and exchanges.

If you can achieve the minimum price and beyond – it is considered a bet with the advice to take them either with bookmakers (if available) or with exchanges before the race starts.

It is not for everyone. We would recommend a £10,000 betting bank to follow these selections to cover costs and make the most of it.

So the likelihood is that its for more advanced, established bettors. Perhaps those of you closed down by bookmakers for winning and now reliant on exchanges to bet.

Other Options For All Types Of Bettors

As good as this tipster is, services with a recommended betting bank of £10,000 may not be for everyone but we have an array of options to match any bettors needs.

Including those we feature via our revamped Betting Exchange & Sharp Bookmaker Section.

This might be some of our Free tipsters for horse racing, hockey, football and basketball that will get you started for the small cost of joining SBC!

Or those that charge a smaller fee but are from quality tipsters with proven ability to beat the exchange and sharp bookmaker.

Don’t forget you can also enjoy a wide range of discounts on many of the tipsters we review thanks to our 100% independent policy and punter-focused operation.

To find out more, read about the benefits of SBC membership. We would love to see you sign up so that we can share all of these resources with you!

Restricted or Closed By Bookmakers? We Can Help With This New Resource

With account restrictions and closures getting worse by the week, sharp bettors need tipsters, services and strategies that do not rely so heavily on access to soft bookmakers and their array of concessions.

With this in mind, we have been working on numerous projects to help you including:

  • Advice to help maintain bookmaker accounts
  • An independent bookmaker guide
  • Free tipsters with edges on Betting exchanges (or with sharp bookies)
  • Extra emphasis on exchange & sharp bookmaker performance in our tipster reviews.

To take this all one step further, we have developed a brand new section of the SBC members area that is solely dedicated to tipsters who are profitable on Betting Exchanges like Betfair or with Sharp Bookmakers like Pinnacle who welcome winners.

No Bookmaker Accounts? No Problem!

To see a snippet of what is on offer, you can visit this page to see how we are profiling tipster services that have edges on exchanges or with sharp bookmakers.

You will find examples of two horse racing services, a golf tipster, a football tipster and a basketball specialist.

All are usable on either Betting Exchanges or with Sharp Bookmakers who don’t limit winners.

This is just a small snapshot of what we offer and as an SBC member you can access a complete listing of suitable tipsters including:

  • Details on the service and what they do/offer
  • Links to SBC reviews and further information
  • Results, with reference to exchange/sharp bookmaker performance
  • A discussion on who the service is suitable for, including level of expertise and experience
  • Any extra detail we can share, usually from our own usage of the service(s) in question

We have done this for over 30 services and will be adding to the list every time we profile a tipster who shows profitability without the need for soft bookie accounts.

This means that if you can’t bet with ‘soft bookmakers’, you can still make profits from your betting! You just to have to do so in a different way.

To get full access to all of these resources you will need SBC Membership.

With profit becoming harder to come by in this industry environment, we will be focussing on projects like this one moving forward, making now the perfect time to sign up for a full SBC membership!

Three Top Tipsters Available For FREE As A Perk Of SBC Membership

Did you know you can follow a group of profitable tipsters as a perk of SBC membership?

If not, today I wanted to highlight just three of them, each of whom have been very profitable in different markets and across a variety of bookmakers and exchanges.

Read on for more on each and if they appeal to you – you can learn more about the Free Tipsters we offer and sign-up for an SBC Membership here to gain access to them.

Profitable Betfair SP Racing Tipster

First up is Achievable Value, a service that is perfect for anyone looking for a ‘bet and forget’ racing tipster to add to their portfolio.

All selections are recorded against the Betfair Starting Price (with 2% deductions applied to every winner), meaning that it takes just a few minutes each day to place bets without any concern about shopping for the best price or worrying about account restrictions when you win.

Since tips went ‘live’ for SBC Members in March, 213 bets have produced 20.9 points profit – all at the sharpest betting line in racing. This is in line with the service’s SBC proofing period (detailed in the table below) and is actually below historical returns.

Profitable at Pinnacle: A Basketball Tipster

Next, we have Demetrio Giotti, a European basketball expert who has been with us at the SBC since 2016. His profit & loss graph has been going in one direction since (as you can see below) as his 685 bets have yielded 211 points profit at a ROI of 16%.

One of the most appealing things about Demetrio’s service is how he records his prices. Pinnacle Sports is used for odds quotation and as this is one of the world’s sharpest bookmakers, you are most likely to be able to easily match these prices.

Profitable Horse Racing Tipster with Fair Bookie Odds

Last but not least we have Pricewise With PCB, which curates Tom Segal’s famous column with alternative staking and insight from Paul Chandler-Burns.

This selectivity makes following the column more practical than the core service, as Paul reads between the lines to identify the bets that are ‘strong fancies’ for followers to get on, whilst discounting those that may be put up as ‘token bets’ on the quieter days.

This has worked. A 23% ROI at SP in 2020 has been followed by over 2 years of consistent profits as you can see in the graph and table below:
