Better Than Betfair Part 2: Another Top Betting Exchange Explored…

To continue our 2015/16 football season investigations, we have spoken with another popular exchange, Matchbook on why so many punters are now using them for their betting.

With a whole host of new football markets added to their site (Including League 1 & 2 in England), increased stability, and some very competitive commission rates and odds, it is easy to see why Matchbook are becoming so popular.

Read on for more details…

Matchbook Best Odds on Football This Year

SBC: First off, can you explain why punters should consider betting with Matchbook?

Matchbook: The advantage of a betting exchange over a sportsbook for the customers is that we want our users to win. The customer is not betting against Matchbook, so we want to ensure that they have the most positive interaction with the site as possible. The content we provide onsite helps bettors to manage their bankrolls and improve their betting strategies, ultimately making money for the punter.

On top of this, we are consistently best price on Soccer, NFL, NBA, NHL and various other sports, as confirmed by Oddschecker. In addition, if you don’t like the price we have on offer, you can always offer your own!

SBC: Similar to other exchanges, you charge a commission to punters using your site – what are your current commission rates?

Matchbook: We charge 1% (1.15% for UK customers) commission on a volume basis. At times we run special commission offers such as 0% on football, tennis, rugby etc.
Editor’s note – Please also see the end of this article for more on the recently adjusted withdrawal fee policy

SBC: Can you outline what new football leagues Matchbook will be covering this season?

Matchbook: We’re constantly adding new leagues to the site; just recently we’ve added leagues from Japan, China, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland and Ireland so our repertoire of leagues/competitions is increasing constantly.

We have recently added the English Leagues 1 and 2 to the site. Here is a full list of what is new:

Japanese J-League
Chinese Super League
Norwegian 1st Division
Swedish Superettan
Irish Premier League
Finnish Veikkausliga
Icelandic Ursvaldeild

With all of our usual markets for the major world leagues returning for the upcoming season, we have the best selection of leagues ever available on Matchbook.

SBC: The amount of money traded or liquidity on any betting exchange is crucial – just how has this improved on Matchbook since we spoke last September?

Matchbook: Liquidity continues to improve on Matchbook every year. Every league and market we introduce adds to our product. The last 2 months of last seasons domestic football season showed a 59% increase in volume from the previous year. We are continually improving our live tennis offering, and soon we will offer live betting on every tennis game. For cricket we have a very strong in-running product for all major tests/ODI’s and T20’s, and for politics our US Presidential market promises to be our biggest political betting event ever.

Fink Tank Service

SBC: Many shrewd punters use odds comparison sites to find the best odds – which sites do Matchbook appear on?

Matchbook: We are operational on a variety of odds comparison sites including Oddschecker, Oddsportal, and Betbrain. You will find we are frequently best priced on a variety of major betting markets, especially soccer, tennis, and the major US sports.

SBC: How about betting on the go – What do you offer in terms of mobile phone and tablet betting?

Matchbook: We offer an app for iOS and Android users. Our iOS app has been redesigned for the new season and the early feedback has been fantastic. It also contains our own proprietary casino integrated into the App.

SBC: Stepping away from football, what new developments are there on Matchbook?

Matchbook: A host of new markets have been added to Matchbook recently with Darts, Snooker, Cycling, Politics, Gaelic Football, and Hurling among our most recent introductions.

Another feature we have been Beta testing in recent times is a group betting, or Syndicate promotion. The Matchbook Syndicates can be described as a group of customers who will form a syndicate and professional sports bettors or selected members will bet on behalf of the group. This project is still in a beta phase, but promises to be a very exciting development as we grow our community.

And of course, Horse Racing will be introduced in 2015/16, so a lot of work is being put into making sure we have the best horse racing product on the market.

These are just a few of the features expected on site in the coming year, not to mention a host of smaller features and functionality that will make it as easy as possible for users to access the liquidity and place their bet.

SBC: The Horse Racing market will attract a lot of interest I am sure, can you tell me anymore at this stage?

Matchbook: Launching an industry leading exchange horse racing product does not come without its challenges. We are very determined to maintain the quality of our product when we add Horse Racing, or any other feature to our platform. So there is a lot of work going into ensuring the quality of our horse racing product measures up to the existing markets and events we cover. We are working to have a horse racing offering in place for early 2016. It’s an exciting time for the company and we’re confident our horse racing product will be a huge success when it arrives.

SBC: I note you have also added new Lounge and Forum areas, can you explain what they offer?

Matchbook: The Matchbook Lounge is a proprietary webspace wherein the Matchbook community can develop and grow. As the content hub of the Matchbook website, the Matchbook Lounge provides us with a space wherein we can provide relevant, topical, thought provoking and interesting betting content to our users, providing customers with a positive user experience every time they visit the site. The interactive aspect of the Matchbook Lounge allows us to leverage the peer-2-peer community of our betting exchange by enabling our customers to discuss and interact with each other.

The Matchbook Forum is a key component of the Lounge. The Forum allows users create their own trading content, from discussion threads to trading strategies and tips. The Forum also enables traders to create polls and provide feedback to Matchbook.com on how to further improve their exchange betting experience.

We’re looking at adding tons more personalisation to the Lounge also, allowing for each customer to receive their own unique Matchbook experience. Customised Twitter feeds, betting previews, and Forum content are some of what each customer can expect.

Matchbook Withdrawal Fees

Please note that since this interview was first compiled, Matchbook have updated their withdrawal policy whereby some accounts may be charged a withdrawal fee. Whether or not you will have to pay a fee depends upon your ‘Payment Rating’ as follows:

    • Payment rating of 1.1 or greater – Matchbook absorbs processing fees.
    • Payment rating of less than 1.1 – Processing fees passed to Customer.
    • Payment processing fees will be charged at 2% on the requested withdrawal amount.

You can read about the maths behind the Payment Rating here, although it is fairly complex so is best obtained by contacting Matchbook support via email or live chat to obtain yours. Matchbook tell me that they are working on making a Payment Rating calculation more easily available to customers – hopefully as part of the ‘Account’ section.

In general, your Payment Rating is greater the more you bet and less you withdrawal. Thus if you intend to withdraw money on a regular, perhaps weekly basis, you may find yourself with a lower rating. Our advice is to contact Matchbook if in any doubt about your Payment Rating and if at lower than 1.1 to follow the steps they will outline on how you can improve it.

Why The First 6 Weeks Of The Season Matter – 23% ROI From 449 Bets

The new football season is nearly upon us.  The television companies are cranking up the hype, there are pull out guides galore, and football bettors the world over are full of hope and optimism as they prepare for the imminent battle against the bookmakers.

(Speaking of which, make sure you get SBC’s 6-part Essential Football Betting Compendium for the new season – the most concise guide to betting and winning in 2015/16)

Football Compendium Guide

Seasoned followers of The Fink Tank Football Service go a step further, for they are full of expectation too, especially given its form during the first 6 weeks of the season, which stands at 23% ROI from 449 bets over the last 7 seasons (But more about that soon!)

Yet betting during the first 6 games of the season is frowned upon by many gamblers as a rule – something I wanted to investigate further to find out exactly why…

Is the beginning of the season not a tricky time for football bettors?

There is no form to go on.  Teams are still wheeling and dealing in the transfer market.  Players are not all properly match fit.  You’re backing a team that has lost all their pre-season friendlies, etc. etc.

On the face of it, there are a lot of reasons why so many bettors believe it wise to wait a few weeks before putting on their betting boots.  Give it a few weeks for the form to settle down, for new players to settle in, for squads to be finalised before the transfer window closes.

But what if we consider that to create an edge in the betting markets we need to go against crowd thinking?  This is what the best gamblers do, and the best betting systems…and we believe our Fink Tank Systems are amongst the very best!

Fink Tank Service

The first 6 weeks – why the Fink Tank bucks the trend…

Back in our 2013/14 Season Fink Tank System Guide, we highlighted a potentially interesting area of strong performance – the fact that first few rounds of the season had generated particularly good profits.

At the time we said “profitability to date has been excellent (ROI 19.2),” but we suggested we needed “to see if the early season pattern holds up over a larger sample size as we gather more results this season and beyond”.

With two more seasons under our belt, we returned to this analysis in our 2015/16 Fink Tank Guide, and found that our theory that the first six weeks of the season are very profitable indeed was bang on!

Take a look at the following table.  It shows the results of backing each of our Win Value 15 Fink Tank System bets through the first six weeks of each season:

win_value_15_finktanksystem

As you can see from this table, in total there have been 449 bets that qualify, which have generated a profit of 103.4 points at an outstanding 23% Return On Investment!!!

Some seasons have been better than others but there is a clear pattern of strong performance over a pretty solid number of bets. Those of you skipping the first six weeks of the season with this system are clearly missing out!

Why does The Fink Tank do so well, when everyone else is running scared?

In these early games, the Fink Tank Systems have to rely more on data from the previous season, and it would appear that they do this to great effect.

One possible theory to support this finding relates to the early season hype we traditionally see both in the media and with supporters. Whilst longer-term evidence suggests most teams see only modest changes in their accumulated points and league position from one season to the next, perhaps the market over-reacts to the excitement of the summer signings and ongoing transfer talk during those opening weeks of a new season.

Certainly this would explain why the Fink Tank Systems are so powerful at this early stage of the season.  It’s like we said above, it’s the ability to go against the crowd that creates an edge.  From what we’ve seen, our Fink Tank Systems do this perfectly!

Beyond the first six weeks – how much money can I make through the season?

We feel it is essential to sign up to our exclusive Fink Tank Systems before the new season gets underway, so that you can take advantage of what has proven to be a particularly lucrative first six weeks of the season.

But what about the rest of what is a long season?  We’re sure you don’t want to make a load of profit at the beginning of the season, and then lose it all over the remainder!

Here is a table that shows how much money you would have made from following each of our fourFink Tank Systems through each season since 2008/09, if starting with a simple £2,000 bank:

Fink Tank All-Time Profit

How do I get access to The Fink Tank Systems?

How To Combine Tipsters & Boost Your Betting

Earlier today we released the 4th part of our new football season guide in the form of our much anticipated ‘Combo Tipster Report’.

It is essential reading for anyone who follows football tipsters (or just tipsters in general) as it showcases just how you can improve your betting profits by using just one simple strategy.

So if you are keen to find out how the Combo Tipster Report can help you, read on for more details!

Make Money Betting - Join the Smart Betting Club today

What is the Combo Tipster Report all about?

The Combo Tipster Report looks at one key aspect of using football tipsters to make profit namely…

What happens when more than 1 tipster puts up the same team as a bet?

We have all heard of the phrase “2 heads are better than 1” and we wanted to put this to the test by analysing 4 top tipsters across all 4 top English leagues to see what happened when they put up the same tip.

We spent hours plugging the data in and researching this question, yet it was well worth the effort as the findings were impressive to say the least!

Tell me about what you uncovered?

We found that there was a clear pattern of boosted performance, especially when 3 of the 4 tipsters put up the same team as a bet.

This happened more regularly than you might think with 918 such bets from the past 4 seasons alone showcasing some impressive performance. Here is what we discovered…

Tips put forward by just 1 tipster: 2320 bets, 121.9 pts profit and a 5.3% ROI

Tips put forward by 3 or more tipsters: 918 bets, 135.9 pts profit and a 14.8% ROI

All told, by following this Combo Method, you would have made an extra 14 pts profit from 1402 fewer bets. Critically this boosted your ROI by 9.5% as well.

…And so on the back of this knowledge, we have put together 6 recommended ‘Combo Tipster’ Systems for the new season, which are also listed in the report.

What are these Combo Tipster Systems and how can they help?

The basic theory here is that by either focusing in on these ‘Combo Tipster’ selections alone or by staking more on them we can massively improve our betting.

Each of the 6 Combo Systems therefore take a different approach when it comes to staking.

For example Combo System E (which is my favourite) suggests staking 1 point on any tips highlighted by 1 to 2 tipsters, and staking 2 points on any tips highlighted by 3 to 4 tipsters.

Had you done this over the past 4 seasons, you would have placed 4998 bets with a profit of 378 points and ROI of 6.4%.

Best of all though is the Betting Bank Growth (or ROC as we often term it) which stands at 378% over the past 4 seasons. Averaging 94.5% per season.
Fink Tank Service

Exactly how can punters put these findings into practice?

It can help you in 2 different ways.

Firstly if following any of the 4 football tipsters we feature in the Combo Report, you can apply it straight away. All 4 tipsters are very popular and profitable in their own right but when put together they really shine. If keen to follow any of these 4, there are significant discounts available on all of them for Smart Betting Club members (Read all about our Big Tipster Discounts!)

Second of all, punters can benefit by applying this Combo Tipster theory to their own betting.

Do you follow more than 1 tipster and wonder what to do when they back the same horse or team?  Well our research shows that if they are genuinely good individually, together they will perform even better.

What else is in the Combo Tipster Report?

Alongside a full rundown on all of the Combo Systems & Analysis above, in the report you can also find:

  • How the odds compare if taking an early price on a football bet, set against the odds at kick-off. Is it better to bet early or late? Our research reveals all.
  • Which method of football betting will make you the most bang for your buck – Asian Handicap or Win only? We have another article devoted to this topic.
  • How the top tipsters perform by league – find out where they make money and where they struggle!
  • Which bets you should cut out from your football betting and why – our odds analysis reveals the least profitable bets you can do without.

Why Asian Handicap Isn’t Always Best

Maximise your football betting profits

Over the last few months we’ve slowly been revealing the intricate details of our powerful football betting combo method to our subscribers.

The general idea is to examine tips from a select group of profitable tipsters and pay particular attention to any tips that overlap. If more than one tipster or ratings service is going for the same team, the more likely it is that you’ll make money.

We’ve explored this strategy from various angles and this month we tackled a key question for our subscribers –

Should you bet with Asian Handicap or Home/ Draw/ Away?

For the initiated, Asian Handicap can be used to take out the draw. This means you might win or get your money back if there’s a stalemate instead of losing. There’s more to it than this, but the general gist is that you tend to sacrifice bigger odds in return for the security of covering the draw.

But is this always the right strategy? No! & here’s why…

First we’re going to set a baseline figure by revealing all bets selected by at least one of the four tipsters over the three seasons 2011-14.

All Qualifiers Win vs Asian Handicap

All Qualifiers Win vs Asian Handicap

Win = Home/ Draw/ Away betting

AH = Asian Handicap

You can see from the table above a fairly consistent pattern for both the Home and the more profitable Away bets – strike rates are increased with Asian Handicap, but profit (in ROI terms) is reduced by using the Asian Handicap option. There are no real surprises here; we’ve sacrificed a higher return on investment for a smoother more reliable path to profit, BUT …

… the key point is what this means in terms of Return on Capital (ROC), the bottom line measure of how much our “betting investment” is expected to return over time?

As it turns out, they end up almost identical for this group of selections, a ROC of around 385% over three seasons, equating to an annualised ROC of 128-129%, i.e. more than doubling our bank in the average year:

All Qualifiers – Return on Capital

All Qualifiers - Return on Capital

However, this only tells part of the story, because what we’re really interested in are the qualifiers that are picked out by multiple tipsters more than once.
Let’s find out…

The Combo Systems - SBC92

Now we’re specifically looking at those bets which are picked by more than one tipster.

Multiple Qualifiers – Basic Performance Statistics

Multiple Qualifiers - Basic Performance Statistics

Now we can see another dramatic drop off in ROI performance with Asian Handicap betting, particularly with the home bets.

Multiple Qualifiers – Return on Capital

Multiple Qualifiers - Return on Capital

It seems that this time round we’ve also had to sacrifice some Return on Capital if using the AH approach to betting these selections. The straight Win bet approach has produced an annualised ROC of around 115%, but betting the Asian Handicap reduced this to around 91% per year, averaged over the three seasons 2011-14.

Why is this, and why did we not see this lower ROC for the earlier, wider group of all qualifying selections?

One possible reason, and something that certainly fits intuitively, lies in the nature of the two groups of bets. The bets which “don’t make the grade”, when moving from all qualifiers to the combo bets, are those which are selected by one tipster only. We’ve also observed that a disproportionately high number of low odds bets were flagged by one system only.

Another key reason is that performance of away bets. These are quite often at bigger odds and it seems that taking Asian Handicap in these cases dramatically erodes the value available.

Should you drop Asian Handicap

We’ve highlighted again the importance of using Return on Capital as the primary measure of a betting investment. We found that, for all qualifiers, the ROC was very similar whether you use Win or AH betting (128-129% per year over our 2011-14 sample), but this equated to a drop from 6.2% ROI (Win bets) to only 3.6% for the AH bets.

How best to utilise them may well come down to personal choice and your individual betting circumstances. Do you prefer the smoother, more predictable route to profit that Asian Handicap betting normally provides, or are you sufficiently comfortable with the greater highs and lows associated with the riskier, but apparently more rewarding, win betting approach? Have you been restricted by, or are unable to access, a number of bookmakers offering the stand-out prices on Win bets? Are you a more experienced, high roller wanting to take advantage of the greater liquidity and larger betting limits offered in the Asian Handicap markets?

This is just a snapshot of the analysis we undertake in our Smart Betting Club editions. If you want more sign up here.

SBC 92: A Profitable Double Double!

Inside the latest SBC Magazine (Issue 92) we have two highly profitable tipsters you will need to know about and a pair of articles offering betting insight you can’t afford to ignore.

We have a football tipster specialising in goal betting and a racing tipster with high turnover profits. Our betting insight articles include an update on our acclaimed football combo strategy as well as an in depth feature on odds movements for football tipsters.

FEATURE 1: Football Combo Profits Compared – 260% Profits v 153%!

Within the last three editions of SBC, we have revealed the full details of our football combo strategy. In summary, this shows you how to make huge football betting returns by monitoring the tips of multiple experts.

When more than one expert agrees on a tip, you’re more likely to have found a value bet!

To really unlock the profits from this methodology, you need to know not just WHO to follow, but also HOW.

In this month’s edition, we dig a little deeper on how to follow the football combo method – specifically whether to use Asian Handicap or not.

Asian Handicap bets are often favoured by savvy punters because of the unlimited liquidity available, but they have their disadvantages too. They can often help smooth betting returns, but sometimes this is at the cost of your take home profits.

Take the table below from our combo strategy article:Asian Handicap Vs Win Only Table

The left hand side shows returns betting win only, while the right hand side shows returns betting with Asian Handicaps. We can see that betting using AH can reduce your ROI – this much is typical, but what is unusual is that it also reduces your take home profits (your Return on Capital).

To find out more valuable insights like this, grab your copy of Smart Betting Club’s 92nd edition today.

The Combo Systems - SBC92

RACING Review: High Turnover Profits – 214% bank growth in 14 months

Also this month, we review a racing tipster offering a busy turnover of bets throughout the racing season. With over a years’ proofing under his belt and an incredible 3,246 bets in this time, it’s high time that we shared the promising results from this tipster.

As our readers have come to expect, we go beyond an analysis of the headline results, offering insights into these areas:

  • Month by month analysis
  • Typical odds bands
  • UK Racing v Irish
  • Advised stakes options compared
  • Advised stakes v level stakes
  • Odds availability
  • Racing codes compared (flat v national hunt)

It’s this detailed analysis that reveals that flat racing has produced the biggest bang for your buck with +241 points from 769 bets (20.2% ROI)!

FOOTBALL Review: 120% Profit From Goal Betting

Our next review covers the tips from a maths graduate focusing on the Over 2.5 goal market.
This tipster initially became involved in betting whilst studying for her degree, and having identified a “quirk in the bookmaker’s goals pricing”, her gambling grew to become the source of a very useful second income that helped to see her through her studies. This was over four years ago and since then she has accumulated a healthy return of 118.7% Return On Captial. The service is also available at a low cost with excellent odds availability.

FOOTBALL Special: Should You Wait Until Kick-Off?

In this editions final feature we focus on one notable football ratings service to look at odds movements, to answer the perennial questions such as:

  • Should you wait until kick off to get better odds?
  • Or should you grab the odds as soon as you can?
We provide a definitive answer to these questions with even more insight to help you get the most out of your football betting.

The SBC Fink Tank system is hitting season high profits – Find out how you can gain access to the bets

A couple of weeks ago we wrote about the free systems and tips that Smart Betting Club members can access as a complimentary part of their membership. Our core mission is to help punters find the very best tipsters, but we offer these free systems as a nice bonus.

And what a bonus it’s been for anyone joining recently!

Our in-house racing tipsters landed two huge winners recently at 20/1 and 10/1, but it’s the free Football system that has been the icing on the cake.

58/1 Six Fold From The Free Fink Tank Football System

Our Football system is based on the excellent free Fink Tank ratings and you can follow these yourself should you wish.

What Smart Betting Club members have exclusive access to is our short list of value bets, saving you the time and complication of working out the raw ratings.

There are four different methods available to follow the ratings with, but the jewel in the crown so far this season has been the AH15 Value Method. This system only picks bets if there is at least 15% value in the available odds and uses Asian Handicap to reduce any volatility in betting returns.

Last weekend was an absolute cracker, with six out of six bets coming in. One member landed a 58/1 six fold backing all of them!

This puts the system on a season high of 26.6 points, or a profit of £890 to £33.33 level stakes per bet. Not too shabby for a freebie.

Here’s how the season chart looks to date:

WW_NM_200215

Summary of season results to date:

WW_NM_200215_b

ROI = Profit divided by stakes

ROC = Return on initial capital

In celebration of recent results and to give you a flavour of how the system works, we’ve put a selection of the AH15 qualifiers for this weekend below.

Secret_betting_club_468x60

AH15 qualifiers for this weekend:

Here’s a list of half of the qualifiers for the AH15 strategy for Saturday February 21st:

WW_NM_200215_c

NB (You may need to ‘allow images’ to view this table)

So what does this all mean? Let’s take the first bet as an example…

Bet 1: Crystal Palace v Arsenal | Home (+0.5) | 2.15 Pinnacle

The home +0.5 handicap means you’re backing Crystal Palace and the draw. It’s exactly the same as a traditional Bookmaker Double Chance bet and effectively the same as laying Arsenal on the exchanges. If Pinnacle isn’t available to you, then you create your own +0.5 handicap from the home and draw odds. If Palace win – you win, but if there’s a draw you also profit.

Bet 4: Leyton Orient v Oldham | Home (-0.25) | 2.22 Pinnacle

The home -0.25 handicap means you’re backing the home team, but with half your money back if it’s a draw. It offers a little bit more security than a straight forward home win.

We also highlight the best odds and the next best bookie if these odds have gone. For UK focused punters, we supply a UK bookmaker only spreadsheet. ‘PIN’ stands for Pinnacle and ‘B365’ standing for Bet365.

If you’re new to Asian Handicap betting, fear not. Another valuable bonus of joining the Smart Betting Club is our comprehensive Pro Betting Guide, which covers all the basics you need to know such as Asian Handicap betting and other betting essentials.

Get all the qualifiers

We’d like to stress again that the Smart Betting Club is not a tipping service and these bets are put up as a value added extra to our core offering of comprehensive tipster reviews. As ever, there are no guarantees with the tips we’ve put up, but we hope they do give you an idea of how the system could work for you.

If you want to access all the qualifiers this weekend and the other benefits of membership, then join us at the Smart Betting Club today.

How Our ‘Combo Tipster’ Strategy Can Transform Your Football Betting

.
Earlier this week we released a brand new, bumper issue of the SBC magazine, which contains an article that has taken the football betting world by storm.

It reveals how in one easy step you can totally transform your football betting by identifying the best, most profitable football tips.

Our analysis has revealed a method that in the example below made a near-5-fold increase in ROI from 3.1% to 15.3% by making some simple changes!

Interested in finding out more? Thought so! Let me explain…

When ‘Great Tipster Minds’ Collide

“Fools may seldom differ, but great minds think alike”

Here at the Smart Betting Club we’re pretty sure that when it comes to our best performing football tipsters, they very much fall into the ‘Great Minds’ category, especially when you consider their long-term profitability.

They clearly have the ability to successfully identify value in the betting markets.  Certainly not the work of fools!

Here’s another aphorism for you: “Two heads are better than one”.

Let’s imagine for a moment, that you have access to a panel of the sharpest football betting brains in the business.  (No not you, Robbie Savage). They each run their own proven prediction models to churn out what they consider to be the best value bets each week.

Naturally there are times when two or more of these experts agree with each other on the best tips.

Surely, if a number of our specialists arrive at the same conclusion in terms of where we should put our hard earned, then our confidence in that particular selection should go up?

Two Tipsters Become One

As Oscar Wilde might have said, for one person to identify value in a bet may be regarded as a rick, but for two or more to identify value, that may be regarded as being onto something!

And do you know what?  He’d be right.  We think we are onto something, and in the latest SBC Betting Magazine…

We examined what happened when tips selected by two or more from a panel of four of our very best football tipsters/systems happened to agree.

We are calling it the ‘Combo Tipster’ approach and its findings have made big waves in the football betting world. Don’t just take our word for it though, have a look at what people were saying on twitter…

“Possibly the best sports article SBC has ever published”

“Really enjoyed the article by @sbcinfo on what happens when footie tipsters agree on bets. Some interesting results. Worth the read. #profit”

Putting the ‘Combo Tipster’ Theory Into Practice

As part of our research we chose four proven tipsters that each produce a decent number of bets each season across the English leagues and analysed data collected over three full seasons.

One of the systems we used is available to SBC members completely free of charge – the renowned Fink Tank System.

We then took 1 of the 3 other tipsters from our analysis (for now we will call them Service X) and ran some stats. We removed all bets where they had picked the same tip and isolated those bets where they had completely different tips from each other.

Here are the results, which indicate a decent if not mind-blowing set of figures with a combined ROI of 3.13%…

WW211114

But yet when we look at those tips where they both independently gave the same tip – this is where it really gets interesting as the table below reveals a 15.3% combined ROI.

WW211114_2

Our findings revealed that by isolating the best 304 bets, this was clearly where the majority of profit could be derived. 15.3% ROI vs. 3.13% tells its own story – almost a 5-fold increase.

Focusing in on those duplicate bets would clearly improve your edge, and this was a pattern repeated across all our studies.

Combining another tipster – Service Y with the Fink Tank revealed a similar pattern with the ROI going up from 4.05% if backing ‘individual bets’ to a whopping 19.6% ROI from combined bets.

Supercharge Your Profits With The Best of Both Worlds

Any balanced portfolio of betting services needs diversification.  We understand the need to spread our risk across different sports, different leagues, and different individual tipster methodologies, but we also know that there is often more than one way to skin a cat.

What we have here between The Fink Tank and Service X is synergy, and that synergy can be harnessed to supercharge your profits.

The Fink Tank has the lowest strike rate of winning bets, and the longest average odds, of all four services that make up our team of excellence.  Service X, on the other hand, has a higher strike rate, and operates at a much shorter odds range.  By combining the two, you can see that we’re getting the best of both worlds – the longer prices and a higher strike rate.

The knock-on effect is massive.

We achieve far greater consistency in our results, make our path to making profit much smoother, and make a lot more money!

You can read about all of this and a lot more in our ‘Combo Tipster’ article, available now in the latest SBC magazine.

Free Football System: The Latest Euro 2016 Qualifying Bets

Tonight sees the return of the Euro 2016 qualifiers and as ever, I have the qualifiers as generated by our Free International Football Betting System to share.

Last time out in October, this system made a profit of 6.22 pts from 14 bets (1 pt flat stakes) with successful bets including Slovakia beating Spain and plucky little Liechtenstein’s draw with Montenegro. This followed on from the £465 profit from £25 stakes made during the 2014 World Cup.

You can download your free copy by visiting our Free Football System Download Page

BUT BEFORE YOU DO THAT…Read on first about tonight’s qualifiers…

Euro 2016 Qualifiers

Here are a few of the qualifying ‘value bets’ as generated by our International Football System for this weekend. It is just a small sample but gives you an idea on how it all works.

The best bets are those with over 10% value or more and are highlighted in yellow as in the graphic below. Those games where there is value in backing 2 outcomes (for example Georgia & Draw) may well be worth playing in the Asian Handicap markets. You can find more details on how to do this in the full system guide.

What About The Other Games?

This free system helps you evaluate each International football game to work out exactly where the value lies. Not all games will throw up a ‘value’ selection or if it does, often it will be below our cut-off of 10%.

Take for example the game between Azerbaijan and Norway which our system reckons has the right odds on Azerbaijan (0% value) and is slightly wrong on Norway (-8.7%). The only value is in the draw but at just 6.3%, its not really worth backing.

I have also excluded some of the likely very one-sided games like Germany – Gibraltar or Spain – Belarus from our analysis. Even at 200/1, I doubt very much whether anyone will be backing Gibraltar…

Home Nations Qualifiers

I also ran through each of the home nation qualifiers not include above and although neither of Scotland, Ireland, Wales or England offer any value over the 10% marker, I thought I would include them for interest below.

Will Each Bet Win?

Although the International Football System has performed very well ever since the World Cup, it doesn’t guarantee each bet will win, far from it.

All it does is identify where it thinks there is value and if the bookmaker has the odds wrong.

For example, as Ireland are currently a best-priced 3.5 (or 5/2) our system rates them as offering just 4.7% value. Should their odds go up to 3.75, their value then becomes 12.1% and they would qualify as bet using the 10% minimum criteria.

The best way to follow this system is across all its qualifying games for a long-term period, so don’t expect too much or go overboard on just a few games this weekend.

4 Advanced Systems To Take Your Football Betting Even Further…

If you enjoy our International Football System you can take it a step further with our more Advanced Football System, which picks out value bets for English Football from the Premier League down to League 2.

Within this you can find 4 different methods to follow the system in each week for both normal 1X2 betting (straight win bets on either the home or away team) or via the very popular Asian Handicap method.

These 4 methods or sub-systems are called: ‘Win Value 15′, ‘Win Value 20′ , ‘AH Value 15′ and ‘AH Value 20′ and their records are as below:

Fink_Tank_Table
Whilst the 4 methods might not have the most catchy of names, since the 2008/09 season, each of them have made a fair profit across the top 4 English leagues (Premier, Championship, Leagues 1 & 2). You have to simply choose the one that suits you best.

You can grab your copy of this Advanced System as a Gold or Platinum SBC subscriber PLUS find each week’s qualifiers on our members-only betting forum
