Bookie Bashing is an SBC favourite. Football, golf, darts – they calculate fair odds and identify value bets for all of them.
The most popular of their tools is the fantastic Horse Racing Tracker, a core element of the Bookie Bashing site that we analysed in depth in 2022 (SBC Members can read that in SBC Magazine #127).
A database of over 2 million horses’ races, live feeds from both bookmakers and exchanges and true odds calculations for every runner make finding value easy – especially in the place parts of bets.
Each-way multiple betting lends itself perfectly to this tool. Bookies think they are ‘mug’ bets, small stakes can result in massive returns and even a handful of places can make you profit.

SBC Members can get 25% off their first three months with Bookie Bashing (saving nearly £70!). This led one man to see what all of the fuss was about…
Using the tracker with the recommended each-way strategies has resulted in some excellent returns in his first few months. We caught up with him to ask a few questions about the tool, how he uses it and the filters that he would recommend to get the best out of it.
We also asked him about his day-to-day betting, how he uses SBC Services and how he plans to adapt moving forward. This is what he had to say:
Tell me about your recent big win and how exactly that came about?
I won just over £15k from placing an each way lucky 63 by using the Bookie Bashing Racing Tracker to identify my six horses. Two of the six won, both at 16/1, with the remaining four placing at odds of 6/1, 20/1, 33/1 and 40/1.

You learnt about Bookie Bashing and their Racing Tracker as its one of the Hall of Fame tools we recommend. Assuming you have read our reviews on the service – how did you decide what type of bets to place and how long have you been doing it?
I’ve only been using the Racing Tracker for two months, as I was always hesitant of joining due to being restricted by the majority of bookmakers meaning I struggled to justify the subscription fee as I wouldn’t be able to use it to its full potential. However, as a long term reader of Rowan’s Bet Diary and listener of the BB Bashcast, I’ve been aware of the success others have had so finally decided to give it a go.
When I first joined I followed Rowan’s lucky 15 strategy sticking to horses priced between 2/1 and 25/1 but after a few weeks I realised that to win a significant sum with lucky 15s you’re reliant on winners. As the Racing Tracker is designed to identify value based on the place terms then you don’t want to be dependent on winners when that’s not what the tool is designed to do. I decided that lucky 31s and more specifically lucky 63s offered more potential for winning those significant 5+ figure sums from horses finishing in the places.
I also changed my odds filter to between 5/1 and 50/1 on the basis that you need those under 5/1 to win in order to increase the value of your bet. I’m sure my theory here is flawed in some way as you do get value e/w bets at low odds, but ,my thinking is a horse priced at 9/2 at 1/5th the odds would return £1.90 for a £1 e/w stake, so a loss of 10p. To my mind you’d be better off not including the 9/2 shot in your 50p e/w lucky 63 and just double your stake on the other five and place a £1 e/w lucky 31.
I also tend to concentrate on those horses with a high confidence rating as it makes sense to stick to the ones the tracker is confident about and after that it’s just a case of picking the horses with the highest EV.
You were able to utilise a restricted bookmaker account to make it pay out? Is this something you have done with other accounts and would you recommend it?
I only have access to two bookmaker accounts that at the moment (touch wood) seem to be unrestricted. The plan with Bookie Bashing is to use these accounts for as long as I can, but I also decided to have a go at getting some bets down on previously restricted accounts. On the account I won the £15k with, they would only give me 6p e/w on a lucky 63, however when I split it out into separate doubles, trebles, four-folds, five-folds and a six-fold they allowed just about my full 50p e/w stakes albeit it the six-fold was limited to 5p e/w.

Being restricted to pennies certainly made the win sweeter so it’s definitely something worth trying.
Any other notable wins using BB or other SBC recommended services?
The only other notable win using BB was a £2800 return from another lucky 63. There is a lot of treading water following this strategy so despite having success after only a couple of months, it is a strategy I imagine will require a lot of patience with over the longer term.
The other notable win that sticks in the mind was from a Northern Monkey bet in 2021 that won £12k when Bielsa hacked up in the Ayr Gold Cup. From memory it was quite a hefty single, and was also the 2nd leg of a couple of successful doubles.
What other tipsters/services do you follow – any that the SBC recommend?
I followed plenty of SBC recommended services over the past 5 years or so; Northern Monkey, SysAnalyst, Learn Bet Win and The Value Bettor to name a few but as I’m struggling with getting the bets down now I’m having to adapt and become more focussed on the exchanges. At the moment I’m trying out a few new tipsters and strategies that will hopefully pay dividends.
Aside from that big win, how else has the Smart Betting Club service helped you over the time you have been a member?
Finding the SBC has been the key that has enabled me to bet profitably over the past 6-7 years. The content they produce is second to none, and has provided me with all the information required to educate myself on how to bet profitably. Without the SBC and the tipsters they recommend, I’d be clueless!

What do you like most about the Smart Betting Club service and who would you recommend it to?
I’d recommend the SBC to anyone. It doesn’t matter if you’re just starting out and want to understand the basics, or if you’re a professional punter looking to add another string to the bow, there is definitely something for everyone.
What are your betting plans for the future? What might you do if and when your accounts get fully restricted and closed?
Restrictions have been a problem for a number of years now so I’m concentrating on finding edges on the exchange. It’s been trial and error for the past 18 months or but there are a few promising angles that will hopefully bear fruit.
The increasing affordability checks and the general hassle of using friends and families accounts means that route is probably no longer worth the effort so I’m running out of ideas.
I hear more and more momentum gathering for the black market, but it isn’t an area I’ve looked into too much yet. There is going to come a time though when that is the only option.
