SPORTS: Touchdown for Touchdown Profit!

Before I sum up how the sporting tipsters fared through the week just gone, I need to get something off my chest…

Does anyone actually listen to the so called ‘expert’ pundits when watching football on telly?  I always used to, but I find increasingly now that it is really difficult to find anyone who gives any level of insight or proper analysis that I’m prepared to listen to.  Even co-commentators get on my nerves now, as for most of the time it is clear they have either gone into a game wishing to push a certain narrative for which they then desperately seek some level of confirmation from what they watch, or they just make up sh*t.  Seriously, the number of times now I hear and see some muppet say something that is simply factually incorrect, or at the very least is a conclusion drawn from complete ignorance of context, is ridiculous.

And I’m not saying I have to agree with what a pundit says for him not to be a muppet.  I’m quite happy to disagree provided the argument or point they are making can be backed up with something stronger than an assumption or stereotype.  I don’t know about you, but I now find ‘fan media’ means that rarely do I now listen to anyone in the mainstream.  I find blogs and podcasts more insightful, funny, thought-provoking and entertaining.  And critical too, when occasion arises…but critical based on opinions formed through proper analysis.

Right, rant over.  You may agree or disagree.  But thought I’d raise it.

On The Oche did again what it seems to be doing every week at the moment, picking out a solitary bet (and sometimes two) which wins and pushes the profit high for the year to date just a little bit higher.  I so hope it has a strong end to the year, because if it does, 2022 will be one for OTO to be proud of.

Good to see Touchdown Profit go 3-1 and produce a good profit for the week.  Small sample of bets I know, but it’s good to see the ROI hit the 10% mark.  If that can be sustained through the season, then I’ll be one happy chappie.

Not such good form for The Poacher though who found negotiating last week’s European action a little tricky.
