GOLF: A horrible week, but the portfolio continues to grow!

I’ve been saying a ‘correction’ was due, and I think one has hit.  Whether this be the start of a correction, or just a one off short, sharp slap, only time will tell.

Weekly Golf Value endured a horrible week.  With three tournaments – one on the DP World Tour and two on the PGA – we had 19 selections, and not one of them made the frame.  To put things into perspective though, and to see just how due a correction has been, despite this horror show the ROI for the year is still in excess of 100%!

The only service to come out with any sort of credit (but not in the financial sense) was PGA Profit who minimized losses by finding one to place in each of the US competitions.  Not putting my bets on until Wednesday evening meant that with one of those I took lower than the advised odds. Had I got them, as I usually do, then the very small loss may even have been a very small gain.  Either way, just two points dropped looks good compared to everyone else.

Strangely, I couldn’t get the Tour-Tips bets last week.  Must have been my timing, but when I checked, the Preview and Tips page was bank,  Let’s see what happens there this week.

Not to be deterred by a bad week (after all, why would I be when my overall golfing ROI is sitting at 26.85%?) this week sees an addition into my ever-expanding golf tipping portfolio, with SBC’s The Rainmaker joining the ranks.  I’ve kept an eye on this one whilst the service was providing free tips, and it was notable last year that with a number of big-priced near misses this was one with potential.  That potential looks like it is being realized this year with a couple of good winners, so it will be interesting to get this one embedded and the bets down.

This time a couple of years ago I could not have envisaged that golf would become, by some considerable distance, the sport to provide me with the most betting action each week.  Bring it on, I say!
