GOLF: Are you not entertained?

OK, let’s call a fish a fish.  Betting can be a wee bit of a grind.  Am I right?  I am, aren’t I?  There is more grind than an overzealous waiter with one of those oversized pepper thingymejigs you used to find in Italian restaurants.

I found myself wondering if it’s entirely healthy, grinding away at something day after day.  Can’t be, surely.  I know it’s kinda necessary, but why can’t we make parts of it a more enjoyable experience?  If the advice, which it so often is, is to make sure you don’t get too high on the betting highs, nor too low on the lows, then you can over time effectively be living life like Randle McMurphy following his electro-therapy treatment.

(Not going to say which tipster is Nurse Ratchet)

It was in this frame of mind that a Tweet aimed at Tom Brownlees of Bookie Bashing caught my eye this evening.  The lad tweeting may well have been tongue in cheek.  I couldn’t quite tell.  But, if he was being serious, his point was very, very wrong.

Basically, he was asking Tom to cut the “small talk” out of his podcasts (or ‘Bashcasts’) and concentrate only on the actual betting content instead.  No, no, no, no, NO!  What are you on, man!?!  Listening to Tom’s tales of the scrapes and “situations” in which he finds himself are an excellent preamble to the betting insights and analysis.  They’re funny.  And like I said at the top of this post, there isn’t enough fun in the world at the moment, and generally speaking, not much fun in that daily betting grind.

All of this to say, has taken my mind off another damp squib of a golf betting weekend.  The less said about that, the better.  To go into too much detail would be a grind indeed.
