From last week’s BD post…
“As for the rest of the selections….. I don’t know what else we can do at the minute…….all ran well (again) but just didn’t win”.
A quote from Wayne, aka Northern Monkey Punter, August 31st 2021.
And from Monday’s NMP email:
“Overall it was a cracking weekend.”
How quickly things can change, and how sweet this past weekend must have been for Wayne (it certainly was for his followers!) as he netted over 40 points of profit over the two days. 40 points!
It really does highlight/underline/emphasise/stress just how important a role patience has to play if we want to make money from the bookies. When you have a guy as experienced and as calm under pressure as Wayne, you need to stick with him (I’ve learnt that lesson). As I said last week, we’d normally expect the midsummer months to be those through which we reaped Northern Monkey hay, but that’s not been the case this year. This year we’ve had to wait until September for our splurge in profit, and it would have been easy to have lost a little hope.
Overall, I’m just pleased for Wayne himself. He may be calm, rational and focused on the long term as any tipster must be, but I know he also so wants his members to do well. Apparently he had a celebratory curry on Saturday night. I hope it was a good one. He deserves it.
Anyway, that brings NMP up to a high profit line year to date, and for the racing portfolio as a whole.
