It was the Punchestown Festival in Ireland last week, and the Newmarket Guineas meeting this side of the water. This meant that Bet Alchemist was busy through the week, and after a couple of profitable days and a couple of losing days, it ended up essentially all square, which kinda set the tone for the racing portfolio as a whole.
Not betting Saturdays is all still a bit weird too. It’s traditionally Northern Monkey’s busiest day so when I totted up the week’s figures, it felt like I was following Northern Monkey Lite when I saw how much I’d staked. I’d be lying if I said this didn’t concern me at all. If the summer is generally speaking NMP’s most profitable time, and Saturday his busiest day, by not supporting his Saturday picks I feel like I’m missing out. Time will tell of course, but it’s not ideal. Knowing the situation can’t be helped is not really providing much solace.
As for Bookie Bashing Racing Tracker, we turned over a small but decent profit on what was a relatively quiet week, with only 14 bets struck. Still, it’s ticking over, whilst we wait for the next big win.
