GOLF: Wot? No winner!?!

There were two PGA events last week, and at one point in one of them we had four in the top five on the leaderboard.  How churlish would it be for me to say, bearing in mind how exceptional the form of the golf tipsters has been this year so far, that I therefore feel a little disappointed not to have bagged another outright winner?  Very, is the answer.  And I’m certainly not registering any complaint after another weekend that has produced an overall profit.

I do have a very slight concern and tweak to make however, and now is as good a time as any to do this as we head into a new month.  From next week I am just going to extend the number of points bank allotted to Weekly Golf Value.  I’m not telling anyone else that they should do likewise.  The desire and capability to take on risk and levels of risk is a very personal thing, and what is right for one is not for another.  I just feel, despite the outstanding profit made so far, that regularly staking a significant chunk of the bank every week is not for me.  There will be, and have been blank weeks and getting two or three on the bounce is really not that unlikely to my mind.  When that happens, I’d rather have the security of a nice chunk of my bank to draw upon.  Like I say, it’s a personal thing.

I’m also going to start monitoring results across the three services to level stakes, and will report back here every now and then for any who are interested.  Such a set up might mean that, moving forward, I have say a 500 point golf bank, with 1 point being staked on each golfer tipped up.  Certainly will be interesting to compare results.

As for this week, the aforementioned Weekly Golf Value found four golfers who placed in their respective tournaments at 70/1, 66/1, 100/1, and 40/1.  PGA Profit followed up last week’s win with another solid all round performance and contribution of profit by finding two golfers who finished in the frame at 100/1 and 28s.  Just one placed from Golf Insider at 25s, and a loss on the week.  All told though, the profit line was raised further and things are progressing swimmingly.
